Reader and Library
- Reader now keeps your place when you begin reading another book, or close and re-open the Reader. It will now re-open to the last page you were reading.
- Adding articles and PDFs from the web, mobile app, or extensions now no longer causes an “Untitles Document” to appear. The document will be given a sensible name, or its original title.
- Epubs can now be send to the reader from all embassies. They are converted automatically to PDF once added. Previously this sometimes caused multiple PDFs to be generated. This no longer occurs.
- The “Incoming Documents from 🌐” banner will now dismiss if there is a problem with incoming documents. Previously it would get stuck. The change also adds a specific event for logging.
- Default PDFs that come with the library no longer re-appear after being deleted. If the user deletes them, they remain deleted.
- The order of documents in the library now always reflects the last-opened document. The only documents that appear what were last opened are documents that have just now been added from web. This makes it much easier to find the items you want to read.
- Some problems with local document handling remain, but overall document management in the library is much improved.
- The tool palette will not open when the stylus touches areas near it. This makes it harder to accidentally open the tool palette.
- “Delete” is now “Archive,” to reflect that the data is still available. However, the interface to un-archive is not yet built.
- A “Coming Soon” message has been added on log in page, re-iterating beta status.
Launcher and OS
- Our OS has been updated so that all apps that previously could not be installed from the Google Play Store can now be downloaded. Notably, ChatGPT and Airtable will now work. Note they may require fully uninstalling and re-adding from the play store.
- Niagara Launcher downgraded to fix a problem with inaccessible settings. The included version is now 1.12.3.
- Security and stability updates to mediatek firmware.
- Cellular tiles removed, and for clarity, the “Internet” tile has been renamed to “WiFi”.
- QR codes added to factory configurator for easier assembly line management.
- Caching and build steps improved for speed and reliability.
